Mental Health & Wellbeing Practitioner

Honiton Community College is looking to appoint a committed, enthusiastic person to join our dedicated and experienced Wellbeing Centre team.    The role involves responding to dysregulated students and one to one and small group work which aims to support students with their social, emotional and mental health needs.

Essential qualities include a genuine desire to help and support adolescents through the challenges they face, empathy, a good sense of humour and an emotional intelligence that enables you to calmly communicate with our students. This role would be suited to someone with experience of working with young people and an interest and understanding of counselling. Hours: 32.5 hours per week - 6.5 hours per day (08.15 – 15.15) 30 minutes lunch break. 38 weeks per year (term time).

Grade: NJC Scale D spine point 7 – 12

Salary: £19,554 - £21,589 full-time equivalent

Actual salary: £14,205 - £15,683

Additional Needs Assistant 


A fixed-term contract from 01 September 2020 until 31 August 2021.  There is a possibility that this may lead to a permanent contract.


16 hours per week x 38 weeks (term time) per annum This is a part-time temporary fixed term contract.  Days and hours to be worked to be confirmed.


GRADE: NJC Grade B (full-time equivalent salary £17,711)


ACTUAL SALARY: £6,334 actual salary based on 16 hours per week x term time (38 weeks per annum).
